The Temple Owls rallied to force two overtimes but still came up short in a 71-64 loss to the San Diego State Aztecs.
Lavoy Allen lead the way with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ramone Moore lead the team with 17 points.
Temple continue to claw their way back after facing an early deficit, but they took some poor shots down the stretch.

The Temple Owls used a last second jump shot to get past the Penn State Nittany Lions, 66-64.
Juan Fernandez hit a leaning jumper with under a second to play in the game to lift the Owls to the victory.
It was one of the better games of the opening round, as both teams battled back and forth, exchanging leads.
It appeared that Temple might have the victory wrapped up until Talor Battle hit a deep three to tie the game in the final seconds. (Read More…)

It appeared Temple would have to go to overtime to advance in the NCAA tournament on Thursday. Then Juan Fernandez got his shot.
Fernandez knocked down a jumper with 0.4 seconds left, capping a frenetic finish and leading the Owls past Penn State 66-64 in the West regional at Tucson. (Read More…)

The Temple Owls took care of business in a 57-41 victory over the George Washington Colonials.
The visiting Owls actually trailed by three points at halftime, putting Temple on upset alert against the inferior Colonials.
Temple ran away with it in the second half thanks to a monster effort from Lavoy Allen, who finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds.
Khalif Wyatt came off the bench and added a spark with 14 points. Ramone Moore added 11 for Temple. (Read More…)
